NORMAN A. LINDER, M.D.

Born and raised in Los Angeles.
Graduated from UCLA in 1991 with two bachelor’s degrees (Biology and Sociology)
M.D. from Chicago Medical School in 1995.
Completed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at UCLA in 1999.
Board-Certified in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine 2011.
Experienced in Workers Compensation and Anti-Aging Medicine since 1999.
Qualified Medical Evaluator since 2001.
Performs PQME, AME, IME, and SIBTF evaluations.

Board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (MPR) and a Qualified Medical Evaluator, Dr. Linder has over 20 years’ experience in Workers Compensation and specializes in medical-legal neurological and musculoskeletal evaluations. His training in Physical Medicine gives him a broad approach to evaluate neurological and musculoskeletal injuries in one office visit. Knowing that his medical opinions must be based upon substantial medical evidence, Dr. Linder writes reports that benefit and make sense to all parties involved. Dr. Linder has an approachable and affable bedside manner that puts patients, attorneys, claims examiners, and others at ease – making PQME, AME, IME, SIBTF and other evaluations so much easier.

Dr. Linder also has certification in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and maintains a healthful lifestyle using principles to live a longer and healthier life. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys spending time with and raising his two teenage kids, mountain biking, hiking, and working-out.

Dr. Linder has offices in Southern California (San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, and Riverside), Central California (Bakersfield and Fresno), as well as in Northern California (Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto).

WHAT IS PHYSICAL MEDICINE?

Physical Medicine physicians, like Dr. Linder, have expertise in evaluating neurological and musculoskeletal injuries in one office visit.
Doctors who specialize in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are known as Physiatrists and are often referred to as PM&R doctors.
PM&R doctors are heavily trained in evaluating and treating neurological, musculoskeletal, chronic pain, and other medical conditions.
Industrial medicine naturally fits with PM&R doctors’ foundation and goals of maximizing patients’ activities of daily living.
The Physical Medicine evaluation has always assessed impairment and ADLs limitation whether it’s for an industrial injury or not.
PM&R physicians take a detailed functional history (work activities and ADLs).
PM&R physicians are trained to evaluate and treat conditions affecting the joints, bones, musculature, spinal column, central nervous system, and peripheral nerves:
- Injuries to spinal discs, spinal cord, radiculopathy, cauda equina syndrome.
- Hip injuries (labral tears).
- Joint ligament and tendon injuries.
- Piriformis syndrome (entrapped sciatic nerve in the gluteal region).
- Shoulder injuries affecting rotator cuff tendons, labral cartilage, brachial plexus (thoracic outlet syndrome).
- Knee injuries (meniscal and cartilage tears, ligament injuries).
- Cubital and carpal tunnel syndrome.
- Ankle injuries (ligament injuries).

PM&R physicians are trained to manage in-patient post-surgical rehabilitation units for patients who have undergone joint replacement surgery (shoulder, hip, knee, etc.) as well as spinal disc replacement and spinal fusion surgical procedures.
